tobias_rieper Funeral doom with calm grunts. Some clean guitar melodies. Clever and measured use of keys and synths. Much more melancholic than depressing. Just a few bits of brief chugging riffs to mix it up. Care was taken to offer some variation in a challenging genre. With this kind of FD I always picture taking a final nap in the woods after having made peace with the world. Definitely not thinking about owl bastards picking my eyes out later. Favorite track: Way To Nothingness.

-VUK- A crushingly dark and beautiful collection of songs. Listening to this feels like trudging through a dark forest, up to your knees in mud... barely making it through the night. “Funeral Doom” indeed! Just a fantastic album!

Atti Overly selective in this genre, will have to absolutely rethink that now. To say I am taken away and so impressed with this album is not enough. The many facets of this artist, each and all unique but so beautiful on their own, I can only further say I am amazed with a new level of admiration and cannot recommend this album enough. Favorite track: Where Solitude Prevails.

Dave Aftandilian Gotta love a doom album named after the era of mass extinctions caused by humans! Yet somehow this ends up feeling much more hopeful that you might expect. Here even the eventual desolation of the earth into a vast, gray graveyard leads to the Oneness of all. Of course there is plenty of leaden darkness in the album as well; vast weight of loss pressing down upon your soul, snuffing every last guttering candle of hope. Another innovative take on metal from the founder of Donarhall.

Dark Veil 09:48
The dark veil lies Down over the gray Slowly it floats down Hiding the sun Complete darkness returns Nothing can be seen anymore The wind stops blowing The birds stop singing Every sound dies And complete silence is restored Even on the horizon You can still see it Its gentle movement Puts everything Into deep mourning Up to the last corner Everything turns Into one single graveyard Without gravestones and names Everything becomes one

about

Look inside the CD: youtu.be/a9WVLJYeoyI

'Sinister Downfall' is a German Funeral Doom Band of the sole founder and only band member Eugen Kohl, who himself is mainly active in the field of black metal (his projects include Donarhall, Nihilisticon and others) and heavy doom metal (Death Carrier). Eugen is responsible for the entire songwriting and for all instruments. He is also doing the mixing and mastering of all his work. Since the founding of Sinister Downfall in 2016, an intensive phase of inspiration and collection of ideas followed, which resulted in the debut album 'Eremozoic'.

The promising debut album of the German funeral doom band Sinister Downfall called "Eremozoic" devours you into its own world full of melancholic hymns and the sound of death of all life for 40 minutes. Each of the four songs places a granite tombstone for life. Like a black shroud, the heavy riffs cover you with the dark cold and bring you a new era of a kingdom of infinite darkness, sorrow and lifelessness. Eugen Kohl, the only member of the band is also known from bands Donarhall, Nihilisticon, Urschmerz and Death Carrier. For fans of Bell Witch, Doom:VS, Funeral Tears, Remembrance, Shape Of Despair, Slow, Clouds. Artwork and logo by Paint-It-Black Design.

Recorded at Misanthropic Studios in 2018
All instruments, lyrics, vocals, songwriting and mixing by Eugen Kohl
